The Apprenticeship Unit, being established by the ACOD within the Planning Commission with the support of GIZ, is designed to strengthen Pakistan’s apprenticeship ecosystem by fostering better coordination, enhanced standards, and improved implementation in construction projects. The Unit will serve as a central platform for connecting TVET graduates with the public sector construction projects to expand high-quality apprenticeship opportunities for youth. Through evidence-based planning, capacity building, and continuous engagement with government institutions, employers, and training providers, the Apprenticeship Unit aims to contribute to a more skilled, employable, and future-ready workforce—supporting national economic development and productivity in the constructon sector.
